While Democrats have long had an obnoxious obsession with bemoaning things they see as problematic in society like “climate change,” endangered species, and gun violence, they somehow see absolutely nothing wrong with – and actually now promote and celebrate – murdering human life both inside and outside the womb as if this evil act is completely normal.
As recently pointed out by U.S. Senator Steve Daines of Montana, who’s also the founding member of the newly formed Senate Pro-Life Caucus, Leftists are more concerned about the viability of insects than they are about maintaining the sanctity of human life at every stage of its precious existence.
Speaking on the Senate floor just prior to the recent vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act of 2019, Sen. Daines pointed out what he described as the “absurdity” of Congress having to take a vote over whether or not to protect newborn babies, especially in light of the fact that mere animals are right now afforded more protections that human babies.
“It’s absolutely absurd that we’re having to decide whether to give human babies the level of protection under federal law that we give to animals,” Sen. Daines lamented, highlighting federal laws that criminalize and fine people for harassing, pursuing, or otherwise harming things like baby marine turtles, bald eagles, and babies of any endangered species.
“Is it the position of the Democratic Party that a border wall is immoral but not infanticide?” he added.

Little did Sen. Daines realize at the time – or perhaps he was able to discern the writing on the wall – that his pleas to Democrats to protect human life would go ignored. Today’s Democrats, as demonstrated by their representatives in the Senate, no longer value human life, and see nothing wrong with murdering it on a whim in order to protect “women’s health” and “reproductive rights.”
Even when Sen. Daines petitioned to the what he hoped would be the reasonable senses of Democrats in recognizing that the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act isn’t about abortion or Roe v. Wade, this, too, was in one ear and out the other.
“I want to be very clear about the matter that’s before the U.S. Senate here today. We are not here to debate abortion; that is not what this bill is about,” Sen. Daines emphasized. “We are here today to decide whether or not it should be legal in the United States of America to kill or neglect an infant who’s been born alive after a botched abortion.”
In the end, the Democrats voted down the bill as expected, unequivocally demonstrating to the world that they love baby murder and want to see it legalized even more than it already is. And their Republican counterparts held nothing back in expressing their disgust for these Leftists’ callous disregard for the sanctity of human life – even after it’s left the womb.
“It is time for our country to demand that the victims of this abhorrent, inhumane treatment be afforded their rights and the perpetrators be held accountable,” Arkansas Senator John Boozman, a Republican, stated on the Senate floor. “Speaking with one clear voice, we must say that every human being is made in the image of God and is therefore in possession of dignity and worth that cannot be displaced or dispossessed.”
“Anything short of this unambiguous declaration would be a tremendous disservice to our children and fatally undermine the values of our society that we claim to uphold. While the debate surrounding abortion has engulfed this country for decades, the goalposts are now being shifted. Reproductive autonomy, we are now told, must include the ability and choice to end the life of a baby who survives an attempted abortion.”
